POSITION: Radiology Director
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for directing patient care and technical activities of assigned clinical radiology areas, as well as manages activities of staff engaged in performing diagnostic and therapeutic radiological, tomographic, and sonographic procedures, and processing radiological studies. Ensures high quality patient care as well as adherence to regulatory agency standards by developing and managing maintenance of departmental quality control programs.
POSITIONS SUPERVISED: All clinical and administrative staff in the Radiology Department, including Radiology Supervisor
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
a. Ensures daily operations facilitate safe and efficient patient care.
b. Facilitates physician communication across department(s).
c. Assists with executing due diligence on physician requests and new business development opportunities in a timely manner.
d. Proactively identifies opportunities to expand revenue sources, reduce expenses, and enhance referral patterns and systems within the Clinic and across the market.
e. Executes expense management within budgeted guidelines.
f. Works with physicians, managers, staff in addressing opportunities identified through Patient Satisfaction survey efforts.
g. Develops and maintains policies and procedures that assures compliance with quality assurance and site assessments.
h. Proactively manages required payer and governmental reporting.
i. Initiates and facilitates appropriate regular team meetings to ensure communication and understanding of practice and organizational goals.
j. Builds the morale and strength of the team.
k. Exhibits computer systems knowledge and proficiency as necessary to perform job functions.
l. Demonstrates the attitudes and behaviors of The South Bend Clinic Service Standards.
m. Performs other duties as assigned when appropriate.
n. Adheres to HIPAA guidelines set forth in Clinic policies and procedures.
Minimum of 5 years experience managing the operations of a Radiology department. Bachelors degree preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must be able to multi-task and must be very detail oriented. A high level of subject, procedural, and analytical knowledge is required in order to interpret data, provide guidelines for operation in unprecedented situations, and propose solutions to difficult problems and to provide expert consultation. Must be able to effectively utilize interpersonal and management skills and operate with a clear understanding of the clinic organizational structure. Must possess a high level of verbal and written skills in order to communicate
effectively within the organization.
